As an education critic, I know just how few role models black kids have. In reply to your last paragraph, sort of like the old days? Back when black people had strong leaders like Martin Luther King.
The big difference is, those people fought and lead as black people, for black people. Obama could be the first black person to be in a position to lead for EVERYONE.
