This forum was opened in 2007 and after nearly 16 years needs to be retired. The forum software is long out of date and has become progressively harder to patch in order to run on newer hosting software. I have done what I can to get the forum up in a read-only view, but posting will remain broken. A few old members still hang out on Discord if you'd like to stop by to say hello.
Thanks for the memories. -Lhurgoyf

Ignore the small NIN images in a previous post. Looks like the NIN Hotline changed them around.
Anyways, I think "Another Version of the Truth" is now my favorite piano-based NIN song to date. It used to be held by "La Mer" from 1999.
Gotta go with "Meet Your Master" as being my favorite track off the album right now.
Edit: Wow. Listen to this album on a good set of headphones. The difference is amazing.

Trent is back, that's for sure. I told you Matt. Trent had it too nice for too long. We needed someone to piss him off. Break his heart, a huge world issue that's getting under everyones skin, lawsuits over his record label. Just SOMETHING to get him all fucking sad and mad at the same time, like he used to be. It seems he has plenty to be pissed at, and now the old NIN is seeping through the pours of a pissed off an angry Trent. I'm diggin it. Muchos Diggin it.

sweet, so I've listened to the new album. Yeah it's pretty pro how Trent's gone back to his electronic roots and stuff. And fuck yeah Halo, the sounds on "Vessel" and the "The Great Destroyer" are fucking crazy harsh Aphex Twin style hehe. Sounds so pro hehe. Btw, where the hell have you been lately? I've been trying to get a hold of you.

You can catch me on aim (mvice9). I'm normally on anytime between 5pm and 10pm est.
This record has really been receiving mixed results from fans, which has kind of surprised me. However, it has received 5/5 from Kerrang. Personally, I'm currently digging this more than The Fragile. Some absolutely love it, while others have been harsh towards it. Though, many of those are die hard With Teeth fans. What REALLY surprises me is how many die hard Skinny Puppy fans are digging Year Zero and how die hard Radiohead fans are hating it. I've been at the boards and it's been rather surprising. Especially from the Skinny Puppy fans. I never thought I'd see the day.
Great songs to drive around to: The Greater Good and Another Version of the Truth. Really makes you look around.
Looking forward to the 17th so I can see all of the artwork that's in store. Anyone else hear that Trent is wanting to make a movie off Year Zero?

Wanted to talk to you about my band's EP heh.
Anyhow, I listened to the new NIN album about 5 or 6 times at work today and I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with this album. It's something totally new for NIN, something they've never done before.
I'm digging this album more than the Fragile because it has way more emotion. The guitar sounds on "The Warning" are actually really inspiring for me. It's just so damn catchy. And "Zero-Sum" just sounds so beautiful.
That's interesting what you say about Radiohead fans hating it and Skinny Puppy fans loving it. Actually, that totally makes sense to me...I could see Radiohead fans hating it...heh..

How did I not hear about this album, good thing I still lurk around these forums. I trust your review halo, downloading it now...
I remember when you hooked me up with Audioslave's first CD months before it came out, at first I hated it so much, I think it was becuase I loved Rage's sound so much. It grew on me, still one of my fav cds today.

Don't forget to go out and buy it today! There's quite a bit of hidden shit within the booklet and all. Cool art.
Also, apply heat to the CD in some way. Play the disc on your computer or put it up to a blowdryer. Cool stuff. ;)
