This forum was opened in 2007 and after nearly 16 years needs to be retired. The forum software is long out of date and has become progressively harder to patch in order to run on newer hosting software. I have done what I can to get the forum up in a read-only view, but posting will remain broken. A few old members still hang out on Discord if you'd like to stop by to say hello.
Thanks for the memories. -Lhurgoyf

khaoz have you played overlord?
Edit: I bought overlord and tried the demo before opening it and im gonna return it even tho the gamestop guy said it was better than shadowrun. Im thinking about picking up darkness instead, or nothing and waiting for a better game.

Don't ever listen to gamestop guys. These are the same people who told people not to buy 360s, cause the PS3 was coming out, and that the PS3 would be way better.
NOTHING IS BETTER THAN SHADOWRUN. If you played it, you'd know that. Anyone who's played it, can't talk enough about how amazingly fun it is.
On the 360, there is not 1 game better than Shadowrun.
But, yes. I played Overlord. It's nothing like Shadowrun at all, but it is a very fun single player action game. I enjoyed it, but I'd rent it, not buy it.
Trade OL in for Shadowrun, and we'll play. I'm on Shadowrun about 6+ hours a day, so just come on and hit me up, and we'll play.

I would not suggest getting darkness bc most of the rv6 guys got it and they said the game is short. I would ask guyzea, porter, mine, and swedish about what they think of the game. Also they said the multiplayer is laggy, needs patched.

Yeah you play shadowrun 24/7 lol! I played the Overlord demo and it was fun but it has no replay value to me. Once you beat the game it's over but it does look fun as hell! Renting it would be the best way to go about getting the game.

like i said, i havnt played 1.6 for more than 20 minutes, estimate. however, back in beta days i would always be top player on the server. i would always dominate every public server i played in, even the higher skill ones. i was cal for a few months but nothing cpl. now that isnt the case at all today. every once and a while ill have a hot streak, but it was just repetition and practice back then. i cant really explain it my reasons, which is why i need to play more 1.6 apparently.

1.6 was out for around 2 years (atleast 4 CPL's)before source. Not a big deal, but you still have to factor in the things that they changed from early on. No bunny hopping, no quick scoping, they made the game more strategic.
I still don't see what is so great about source. But there are several things that I don't like. Running accuracy, hitboxes, flashbangs. They basically took out the entire purpose of squating and walking. Maybe that is fun in pubs, but in 5v5's it translates into a watered down game with straight forward strategies and less than inspiring skill displays.

Glad you like it. Everyone who plays it just loves the fuck out of the game. It's a shame it got bad reviews, cause there's so many people who can't form their own opinions, and just go with what the reviews say.
I don't see myself playing any other game for a LOOOONG time though. Shadowrun has my full attention.

GoW was an amazing game, but it is ruined by its online play. The delay you get unless you're hosting is what killed it for me. If there was no delay, i'd probably still be playing GoW.
