Doesn't seem to have changed much in the past 10 years.
It was REALLY popular in the late 90s though and early 00s. There's tons of rap videos with people doing it in the videos from the late 90s/early00s if you want to check those out.
It's died down now of course, as any dance does, but yeah, it is kinda cool to do.
