Yea I know that, I beta tested xbox live back in it's infancy...Only problem was (with the original xbox atleast) I basically had to spoof the mac addresses on my xbox to get it to connect properly (this was before I ever had the need for a router in my home way back when)

At the university

a) I'm not allowed to have a router and apparently it's next to impossible to set one up if you want to ignore than rule
b) My computer is logged with my university ID and password VIA a proxy server that allows my computer to transmit and recieve data accross the server
c) Certain ports are blocked for various reasons; ports that I do not have the ablity to unblock.

If I was in another dorm I could probably get away with jacking a wifi connection, but my dorm is smack dab in the middle of the downtown area and people get whored enough that basically every network has a WEP on it =P

I'm still going to get the 360 and GoW; I'm just not sure if my live exprience will happen or not while I'm here.

You'll definitely find a way to get it working. Most campus' had to change stuff or post tutorials on how to get xbox access on campus because consoles are popular.

According to the University’s ResNet Acceptable Use Policy, the ResNet connections located in the residence halls rooms are for computers only. Using Xbox in the dorms on the ResNet connection is a violation of the ResNet agreement. Using ResNet to access Xbox games can result in a disabled Ethernet port.

Kind of pisses me off...considering i found several dorm tutorials for other University's around Iowa (UNI and ISU)...bleh effin University of Iowa... I'll probably still try it heh.

your computer accesses your resnet, your xbox accesses your computer.

Define "link through"...

It's not like I can get my network to assign an IP address to 2 mac adresses; and I don't know of any interface between the 360 and a PC that would allow me to stream a connection through my laptop.

Wow. SO I got it last night right. I haven't been this amazed by a game since CS and Starcraft. It's so much better than I could have ever imagined. I played it for 9 hours strait last night, no joke, lol. I haven't done that with a game in, I don't know how long.

Game is just amazing. Aight, enough, coming here to type has made me miss it already, so bye :)
