2010 huh. yeah i been in okinawa from almost 4 years now trying to stay here until oct 2008, thats my scheduled date of separation but i dont know if im going to stay or not. got remarried and have a kid on the way so that changes your outlook alot. well if u become an officer try to become a maintenance OIC. or AOIC (assistant officer in charge) alot of comradery in maintenance units. we just had a LT leave who had been with us so long and he was the shit seriously. dont think u are better than your enlisted guys just cause u got a college degree most of us have them too and it in no way makes u better than us. people will follow someone who they know would do the same things they ask and someone who treats them like human beings and just isnt after his next piece of brass or just chases numbers. u will get stuck following around a SMSgt or MSgt when u get in make sure u learn from them and dont just blow them off they been around alot longer than u and know alot more. even airman can tell u and teach u a thing or two.
i know u prolly wont listen to any of that they prolly teach u that in that old fancy officer school. but heres to hoping. our little saying in the maintenance world.. "Takes a College degree to break an aircraft, but it takes a high school diploma to fix it.."
