This forum was opened in 2007 and after nearly 16 years needs to be retired. The forum software is long out of date and has become progressively harder to patch in order to run on newer hosting software. I have done what I can to get the forum up in a read-only view, but posting will remain broken. A few old members still hang out on Discord if you'd like to stop by to say hello.
Thanks for the memories. -Lhurgoyf

Anyone Own a DS?
I just got one and put my PSP up on eBay. Was wondering who here had a DS. The things is pretty amazing so far. My R4 card will be in on Tuesday. I like how easy it is to get games on the DS. Buy an R4 card, put a 1gig microSD card in it, and bam, done. No firmware flashing like with my PSP, no headache adjusting and messing with this and that, was nothing to it. Now I just drop the .nds rom files for the DS games onto that 1gig stick and I can play the games :O That 1gig stick holds like 30+ games too which is sick as hell.
I also like all the homebrew they have out on it. AIM, MSN all wirelessly from my DS, and like, they have that DSOrganize that turns the DS into a PDA pretty much. Giving like a calendar, todo list, doodlepad, music player, movie player, ebook reader, email checker, and on and on. I'm really shocked at all of the things they have for the DS.
I haven't had a chance to try DoomDS or QuakeDS, if anyone has, are they any good? And I haven't tried any of the emulators like the NES and SNES ones.
I downloaded that package of like 855 Nintendo DS games, but only like 250 of them are US games. Can't wait to try them all out.
I'm pretty excited if you can't tell :O I can't wait to try DSLinux eventually.

SWEET! You have a wireless router in your house? We could hook up and play some games online. I haven't tried to play any DS games online yet, but I know you have to exchange friend numbers(which is like ICQ numbers from what I understand). I get my R4 on Tuesday, I'll hit you up on xfire around then if you're on.
What color did you get btw? And did you get a case or anything with it? Screen protector? Curious what's good with it.

You have an R4, or M3 or anything like that? I got my R4 in this morning ahead of schedule. This thing owns. I have about 25 games on it right now. My favorites i've played so far would be Lunar Chaos and New Mario Bros, but I haven't played too many yet.
I've been tinkering with the PDA functions. Setting up my Calendar, and Todo list, as well as getting some movies and mp3s on one of my other cards.
Thing owns though. It's so simple to do things with.

I have one, but it took a trip down the stairs and the screen broke. I just played tetris DS for hours on end.

It's as easy as that. You get the Card, you put the .nds ROM files, 1 per game, on the microSD card, turn on your DS, and play.
As for what Luminesca said... I haven't even played those games you're talking about. I played a couple of Mario games just to try them, but there's so many other good games on the DS right now. They've sold something like 45 million units world wide, so I expect there to be assloads more good games :O
I have about 250 US roms to go through, and I plan to play at least half of them, lol. The homebrew scene is tight too.
If you have a DS, get an R4. When considering the thousands of dollars in games and things you can download for it all for free, that $45 it costs for the R4 seems cheap.
BTW, my PSP sold. It went for $275 :O WTF? I have no idea why it went for so much, but I'm not complaining :)
