Vista and Ping Issues!

Okay, I have my new beast now. I heard from a friend which I wanted to verify with you all first is that I seem to ping higher on Vista. On my old PC, I had less than 20ping on CS 1.6, and on new I'm noticing near 40.

P.S. I am also unable to connect to mIRC. It keeps stating that I may have a bad username.... Please help, is this a Vista thing?

OH NOES 40 PING!!!.... like u would notice the difference besides the numbers on your screen

I have 40 ping anyway....

I know a guy who runs a Gungame server here in town, and get 10 ping on vista with no problem.

False call.... I was on the worst east coast server. Lol. I went into another last night and I pinged "2" and yes the number two and I didn't miss a digit and my boy had "5" All I need now is a good config, like the one hAte gave me.

HATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And scorp, I tried yours and don't like it. I get 40-50fps on a 7300LE PCI-E, I was close to that with my PCI card with 25-30.

Also my mIRC worries, anyone know why I can't connect?

I also noticed that Vista is a slow ass operating system wtf! I may just call dell and tell them they gave me the wrong version and that I requested windows XP pro. I figured Core 2 Duo + Vista would = fast, but that was the wrong thing to think as my p4 2.8ghz is faster with windows XP.

yes, vista is slower than xp. you also need a good video card to run it with the eye candy. but the bad thing is that microsoft will soon force vendors to stop selling xp systems to consumers. they'll still sell them for business, but not long.

lol, i get 100+ frames @ max settings (1680x1050) with only one of my cards enabled O.o
