i used to do this until i was about 18 or so. however, it would usually always happen in the morning after ive already woken up and know i will only be in bed for another 10-30 minutes. i would have short dreams that were more so a continuation of a dream i woke up from, but the second time around it would start from where i left off purposely (assuming it was a cool dream i wanted it to continue) and i would have my way with the dream. however, i wasnt ever really conscious in the dream, i just knew what i wanted to happen before i fell back asleep. sort of a strange mix of things. its like id have a good dream, it would stop, then id take another 20 minutes to consciously finish it in the way i wanted it to happen.
