You'd be surprised. The weather at Kirtland is nice year round. Albuquerque is right up against a mountain, so you get weather that averages around the 50s to 70s year round. There's a huge Zoo there and a bunch of parks along the rio grande river that runs right through the middle of the city. 4 Malls, a couple of them are huge. The base is massive, even has 2 elementary schools and a middle school ON base, it's so big. There's about 750,000 people, a bunch of colleges. They even have a decent computer graphics school there. There's skiing/snowboarding up on that mountain that borders Albuquerque. A pretty decent Amusement park, a lot of bars and clubs if you're into the night life, I think I counted something like 12 golf courses, there's an aquarium, their own major airport, etc etc. There's a LOT in Albuquerque.
I wasn't to thrilled about the idea of going there either, but people kept telling me they loved it there, and want to go back. So I had to see wtf it was that made everyone I talk to, love this place so much, and it seems to have a lot going for it overall. I mean, there are a LOT worse bases. Minot, Canon, Whiteman, etc, lol. So yeah, i've done my research on the place, and am actually looking forward to going. The only bad thing i've noticed, is the crime rate there is pretty high compared to most cities of its size.
So where you going to now?
