What's crazy, is she was a game designer before this, working on Neverwinter Nights as a programmer. Then decided she liked Writing momre, and wrote those 3 books I listed above, now, she has gone from a little unknown programmer, to a somewhat known writer, to possibly having her work turned into a movie by one of the top directors in holywood. It's like some sort of fairy tale, heh.

Hmm I'll definately have to get the books before the movies come out.

He optioned 1-6, 4-6 are still being written, so who knows. He may turn all 6 into one long trillogy or something. The 2nd book, while good, might not translate into film so well, so I would think most of it would be skipped in the movie. There are some sick scenes in it which would work out great, but for the most part I think a lot of it could be assumed with some time lapse deal or something. Great read, but I can't imagine it as a movie. That's the 2nd one, the first book would make a sick ass movie, so that one I can't wait for.

Not just any dragon movie. These dragons have riders, and crews. Some of these dragons are so large that they hold 20-30 man crews or more on their backs and bellies. They're like massive bombers. It takes place in the napoleonic era with France trying to take over Britain, and there's a lot of fighting at sea, with massive armadas of ships, and in the air overhead of these ships are the Dragon Air Force. Flying in by the dozens and dropping bombs, spitting acid and fire, all over the navy bellow. Plus dog fights in the air, and plenty of them. Dragons clawing at eachother and tearing one another up, all the while their crew will unlatch from their dragons and board another dragon to try and take it over. Jumping across to another dragon and trying to capture the captain. A dragon's captain is the thing he/she cares about the most in the world. Together since birth, so if a crew is able to capture another dragon's captain while on the back of a dragon, they can force the dragon out of the battle. The dragon being pretty useless to help mush since he can't exactly twist back there to fight them off, and if he was to do much to shake them off, risks losing his own crew.

It's a very unique take on it all, and the action scenes are just the shit. She discribes them in such a way that you can almost imagine it as in a movie. It's great.

Oh, plus there's the special part of it all of course. A navy captain far out at sea with his ship and crew, cross paths with a french navy frigate i think it was, and they fight and the British ship takes the French ship. On board they find a single dragon egg in the cargo hold, and the british doctor being somewhat a dragon enthusiest, recognizes that the egg has hardenned, and should be ready to hatch within a week, and their ship is 3 weeks from shore, so someone on their ship will need to harness the dragon once born. Being a dragon rider is not something many people want, since they live in seclusion with the other dragon riders, but don't get down into the cities much, as dragons would scare off all the people in the towns, it's all kind of confusing there. So no one wanted to be the rider, and they drew straws. The dragon hatched and ignored the man who had drawn the short straw, and went around the ship looking at each person over, hopping up on his hein legs and standing about 6 feet tall as even a tiny baby. He ended up picking the captain of the ship, choosing him to talk to first, and therefore making it clear that he was the dragon's choice. The dragon was solid black and looked quite different from all other dragons, and was later found to be an extremely rare breed from China, but I can't go into that much more, since it's one of the coolest parts of the book. We'll jsut say he's a bad ass dragon, and owns all the other dragons hands down, lol. If you read it, you'll find out what I mean.
