Need some expertise
 

I am working on my cosplay for up coming cons and I'm making a samurai sword out of wood, covering the blade with fiberglass, then just wrapping the hilt, and making the guard out of copper.

But i am wondering if anyone here has ever worked with fiberglass cloth and epoxy, I have only read about it, but would like some insight or tips on what i'm actaully doing, because i have only read very straightforward things on it, nothing in detail.
