I can't remember, what happens if you have a char and the ladder resets?

cyb 07-14-2009 11:40 PM

...and when does the ladder reset?

IceBlade 07-14-2009 11:53 PM

Your char goes to non-ladder when the current ladder resets. The ladder will reset when patch 1.13 is released but problems with WC3 have postponed it. I'd say there's at least a month left but who knows.

Edit: Care to join us?

cyb 07-14-2009 11:56 PM

Sure, but don't make my name red :o
People still give a shit about WC3? Lame.
Yea, I started reading the D2 forums. I'm still pissed about losing all my characters and my amazingly awesome gear, I'll make a new account in a minute. If I remember correctly, you can take all your gear from one toon and give it to another right? No soulbinding?

IceBlade 07-14-2009 11:58 PM

The red name is for my admin status. Now I've got the balla d2 icon. No soulbinding but unless you have 2 cdkey sets and 2 computers it's difficult to transfer items.

cyb 07-14-2009 11:59 PM

Can't you just perm a room, drop and quick swap toons? I think that's how I used to do it.

IceBlade 07-15-2009 12:03 AM

I dunno if that always works. I have done that in the past as well but there were occasions I'd try to rejoin and bam. Game Does Not Exist lol. Goodbye items. If you need help transferring anything though I can help.

cyb 07-15-2009 12:05 AM

I was just making sure that I could keep w/e I found to xfer when the ladder resets.

IceBlade 07-15-2009 12:12 AM

You can keep it on non-ladder but we'll all be starting new chars on ladder so you'll have nothing if you plan to play with us. But no one will have anything 'cause everyone will be starting from level 1 for the new ladder.

cyb 07-15-2009 12:17 AM

Well I would discard the character and just give all the items to a new character.

cyb 07-15-2009 12:22 AM

Now I'm going to give my long introduction on this thread just to fuck with ya'.

IceBlade 07-15-2009 12:23 AM

You can't transfer items from a non-ladder character to a ladder character. So once the ladder resets, if you intend to play on ladder, you'll have nothing..

I'll read it tomorrow 'cause I'm going to bed :P

cyb 07-15-2009 12:25 AM

Ghey.
Then it's pointless to even play now :/
Hopefully it will reset soon. One of the threads in the D2 forums said possibly at the end of April lol.

IceBlade 07-15-2009 12:26 AM

Lol yea that was before the WC3 bullshit. I also find it discouraging to have to start from scratch but it can be fun and exciting. I was thinking of starting a hardcore character while I wait for the ladder reset.

Yeah, that still works and is how I usually do it. Nowadays, most of my friends aren't on. There's also the snag-a-friend option so you don't have to perm a game, if you can get someone you trust.

Lt Venom 07-15-2009 11:03 AM

I am happy to help others x-fer. The only thing I do is I have a tendency to pick up items so I can see them, then I drop them at the same spot where picked up. I will also hold items if needed.

IceBlade 07-15-2009 11:24 AM

Lol! I do that too. Doesn't seem to bother anyone. Sometimes I'd xfer for someone who was trusting me and didn't know me that well yet and I'd pick up all his items and be like "Hahaha sucker!" Then be like lolz joking bet your heart skipped a beat and drop all his stuff. Ahh good times good times.

Magistrate 07-15-2009 11:42 AM

And then they'd have a panic attack xD

It's kind of cruel, though. Oh well.

Lt Venom 07-16-2009 08:21 PM

I would never do that to another person.

IceBlade 07-16-2009 09:03 PM

Yeah I'm a joker.

Asynchronic 07-22-2009 04:44 PM

Wait, I missed something. How do you perm a room?

I had no idea you could do that, I've lost some good stuff that way.

Lt Venom 07-23-2009 10:50 AM

You have to be in the room for at least 5 minutes.

Asynchronic 07-23-2009 02:35 PM

Oh, that's not as exciting an answer I was hoping for, but still good to know, Thanks!

IceBlade 07-23-2009 05:18 PM

Having 2 keysets and 2 computers works better for me :)

Magistrate 07-24-2009 05:48 PM

Once I get my laptop I'll be doing the same. We have five computers in my house but they're all in separate rooms upstairs, lol.
