You reading it before the Code? Or already read it and are just checking out his previous book?

CoreyvsWorld 09-04-2006 02:36 AM

Hardboiled wonderland and the end of the world - read
the wind up bird chronicle - read
kafka on the shore - reading

Right now I'm reading LOTR: The Return of the King. Before that I read The Blue Nowhere for like the 5th time lol. You guys would love that book by the way. And before that it was Angels & Demons which I must say owned The Da Vinci Code. My favourite series would be the Shannara series. It's kind of like LOTR's with elves and all that good stuff but there are tons of books that all link together somehow and it just totally owns.

Zackizle 09-04-2006 01:14 PM

Dude, if you read Angels and Demons before The code, you understand alot more shit about the code that leaves you in the dark. Like him being scared of holes and shit.
Angels and Demons is before the code anyways.

BTW, i read starwars books.
Im into the New Jedi Order series.
I average a book every 2 nights. Im on book 20 of 21 in that series, and there is 5 more after it.
I never read any of the other starwars books, but i plan on reading from teh first to the last.
I own the halo books, never read them though, too busy with games or starwars books.
LOTR series is good, along with all the books around it.
Harry Potter series is great, i cant wait till book 7 comes.
And if you like Harry potter, check out this site: www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com
very interesting read.
Umm, thats all i can think of atm.

IceBlade 09-04-2006 02:45 PM

Yeah I liked The Potter books for the most part.

Shifty 09-04-2006 02:56 PM

The orson scott card books are amazing very cool i listed them above
Enders Game is a must for any sci fi fan there are making a movie of it,

but seriosuly read that book FUCKING AWSOME

KhaOZ 09-04-2006 02:57 PM

I forget sometimes how young the people on these forums are. The potter books are pretty good though, I read one of them to my son. Real fantasy books are much better overall. Like the series I am currently reading listed above, or Wheel of Time, or Eragon and Eldest. Potter is easy to read and grasp, so I recommend it to anyone just starting to get into reading as a hobby. Eragon and Eldest are easy to read as well, and I would recommend them over the potter books. I'm biased to dragon books though :O

New Jedi Order is ghey, I have read a book or two from it. Fantasy is where it's at, so quit being a dipshit and get with it.

Zackizle 09-04-2006 08:08 PM

I still need to see the movie just to see how it compares to the book.

Sc0rPi0n 09-05-2006 07:13 AM

I read lots of books but few are stories or genre based. Not that I don't like reading stories, but I prefer watching movies and cartoons because it is quick and still rather enjoyable. Lately I have been reading self-improvement books and magazines. Like how to talk better, or how to understand what people are thinking, or how to play the guitar. B.O.R.I.N.G

It's a kick ass auto-biography. He has done some crazy ass shit in his life, from drugs to other wacky antics. It didn't take me long to read because his recollections are interesting, and pretty intense. It also puts his lyrics and the music RHCP makes under a different light, and alot easier to decypher/relate to.

I haven't read anything in forever. I'm halfway through like 3 books. Just doesn't interest me anymore.

Ghostex 10-12-2006 06:25 PM

I read at work, switch commercials in between.

Towlie 10-12-2006 11:38 PM

Chuck Palahniuk anybody? Most recent book I read was The Andelite Chronicles. I was high when I started and I needed to finish it. Also, Factotum by Charles Bukowski. Interesting read, but I don't recommend it for any of you.

Paav21 10-13-2006 06:41 PM

The best books you will ever read: Stephen King's Dark Tower series. The books changed my life they are that good.
