What are you playing right now?
Are there any good games out right now? Xbox or pc? Ive been looking for something cool, probably RPG but i hate WoW. I've been looking for a new game to occupy my time. I really want to play assassin's creed but... it's not even out yet and i don't think its multiplayer. Oblivion was fun, WoW was fun 2 years ago, but im looking for something fun and new. What's good people?! ive been playing starcarft and a little sim city 4, both of which im bored with. im waiting for HL2: Ep2 to come out, but that will be easy to beat quickly. like i said ive logged too many hours in WoW and oblivion. i recently beat fable on xbox again. |

The whempys admins recently started picking up Starcraft again, so we have been playing a lot of custom maps. Other than that, I play 2142 and Oblivion when I get bored.

how do you continue to play oblivion once beaten? the tiny side quests arent enough for me. i love a good story. and on that subject, if youve ever heard of star ocean: til the end of time, dont waste your time. the story builds and builds and has a shitty worthless ending.
is stalker any good? |
if you want more fun out of oblivion, download a trainer and start murdering people. Its fun :)

Game of the Year IMO. I can never stop playing it, is my only complaint. |
The Darkness for 360. The story might seem short but the multiplayer is like halflife or quake (the good ones).

The only game I really found myself getting into was, surprisingly enough, Halo 3 beta. Counter-intuitively it seems like my attention span has dwindled down with age...Well at least within the confounds of gaming.

i tried playing america's army but ever since they cut mac support ive lost interest. the game blows, even on windows. its just too dated. they need a new engine.

CS 1.6 and when I'm truely bored source. I also play w/ my iPhone (lol.) That occupies my time now. Tried c&c 3, which I bought, but only played once or twice, got bored... It's nothing like tiberian sun.

I tried playing 1.6 the other day and I hate it. Source is so much better. I beat both c&c3 campaigns. I liked it a lot. I'm replied on my iPhone... mmm
Oh and khaoz shadowrun demo is cool. not sure if it worthy $60 but its fun to play against the bots |
For those of us who started on 1.6; the only thing source has over it is graphics. In terms of skill/fun 1.6 wins hands down.

And you said you played beta, but for clarification, did you play 1.6 often? The two are night and day. |
i played every version of CS until source was released. i believe source came out at 1.5, correct? so no, i haven't given 1.6 the time it deserves, but i have given *<1.6 the time it deserves (hundreds of hours), and since i always figured whatever was around before source and 1.6 were relatively the same, i figured 1.6 was the same. every cs beta was better and better, and 5.1 or 5.5 was my favorite, but as far as i can tell, source just beats out 1.6.

Edit: I bought overlord and tried the demo before opening it and im gonna return it even tho the gamestop guy said it was better than shadowrun. Im thinking about picking up darkness instead, or nothing and waiting for a better game. |

like i said, i havnt played 1.6 for more than 20 minutes, estimate. however, back in beta days i would always be top player on the server. i would always dominate every public server i played in, even the higher skill ones. i was cal for a few months but nothing cpl. now that isnt the case at all today. every once and a while ill have a hot streak, but it was just repetition and practice back then. i cant really explain it my reasons, which is why i need to play more 1.6 apparently.

1.6 was out for around 2 years (atleast 4 CPL's)before source. Not a big deal, but you still have to factor in the things that they changed from early on. No bunny hopping, no quick scoping, they made the game more strategic.
I still don't see what is so great about source. But there are several things that I don't like. Running accuracy, hitboxes, flashbangs. They basically took out the entire purpose of squating and walking. Maybe that is fun in pubs, but in 5v5's it translates into a watered down game with straight forward strategies and less than inspiring skill displays. |

I'm on Shadowrun about 6+ hours a day, so just come on and hit me up, and we'll play. |

yeah i returned overlord and got a wireless network adapter and a new wireless controller cause my fucking dog chewed off the fucking joystics from one of my others. so insane. ive been playing shadowrun all day. the demo was sick, so i bought it. the demo map is by far my fav so far. the power plant or whatever

GoW was an amazing game, but it is ruined by its online play. The delay you get unless you're hosting is what killed it for me. If there was no delay, i'd probably still be playing GoW.
