When you think about it, it had to be SC2. They weren't going to make another MMORPG to compete with themselves. C&C3 just came out, and the announcement was in Korea.

I actually thought it would be an MMO.

First off, I knew it'd be Starcraft, because they've released 2 WC games and a WC expansion all in a row, so I knew it wouldn't be another WC game. I knew it wouldn't be a Diablo game, cause the entire Diablo team is gone, and their studio, Blizzard North, is shut down. So I KNEW it was Starcraft.

A few things lead me to believe it'd be an MMO.

1. vivendi said they wanted Blizzard to make MMOS of all of their IPs.

2. Blizzard is making ASSTONS of money off WoW

3. By the time a SC MMO was finished(remember, it took them 6 years to make WoW), WoW would be dead anyway, and it would be just in time for a new one.


Now, what many of us think will happen, is they make SC2, just like they made WC3 just before WoW, and with SC2 they progress the storyline, get everyone back into the SC IP, then they drop a SC MMO on us.

Awesome.. I'm very excited about this. Looking forward to possibly playing it with some of the guys i played Starcraft and Warcraft3 with.

For I have been playing a game Fallen-angels doesnt play for such a long time now, and I'm getting bored of it.

I actually heard from a friend that they already announced that they are working towards a SC MMO; don't ask for the link he never gave me one. That is why he thought that a SC MMO was going to be announced.The one thing I will disagree with is WoW being dead. According to the lead developers, there is going to be another expansion of WoW every year, including a graphics overhaul in the future. And like you said they are making an ASSTON of money on WoW. They would be idiots not to try and sustain that.

From the videos I've seen, it looks like their actually very deep into development, nice to see. So thats about 2 years away from release for blizzard, hah

So, I'm thinking, if they started it in 2003, and it's as far along as those videos show, they're probably pushing for a Xmas THIS year release date. Which means, it'll probably be out at the start to middle of `08. I'm putting my Money on Early 08.

I think, the main reason they've kept it secret this long, is because they're a company that everyone knows takes 5 years to make a game. Every time they announce they're going to make a game, for the next 4-5 years, everyone is haggling them for a release date. With them getting it most of the way done before saying anything, now it'll almost seem like we're getting it early.

The Engine is done though. TONS of the models appear to be in. It seems like they're getting there.

I dunno, I'd shit my pants if it came out before 2010, at least thats what I'm telling myself so I don't commit suicide like that one kid who didn't get into the beta. And speaking of beta if you're right Khaoz, then a beta is RIGHT around the corner. *shits his pants again*

1up.com has it coming out Nov 20th 07. I have no clue where they get that date from, and I'm sure it's wrong.

it will be out soon.. does anyone actually think that SC Ghost was an actual project? they got all the models and a good cover story going with that game when in reality they where working on sc2. the game will be out soon

Blizzard was never making Ghost. They were helping with it, but another team was making it while Blizz oversaw it. There was in game footage, and cool CG intros and everything for it.

It says Blizzard is making for PC and Mac at the same time, I might actually buy a mac for my next computer before Starcraft 2 comes out. My PC is nothing great but doesnt need to be upgraded yet, still pentium 4 3.0ghz, 512mb ram, only a 128mb ati 9800 pro video card tho, I don't have enough ram or good enough video card I beleive to run starcraft 2 as good as I'd like to, it's probably the bare minimums to run starcraft 2, maybe not even. I think it was halo i talked to last and he said the switch to mac was worth it. Anybody else own a mac?
