Is there a way to...

Check the status of my broken 360 that any of you know of? I'm still waiting for it to get back :(

I miss hanging on live damn it! They need to get it back to me ASAP. I might just call them up and say "WTF!" and demand some free shit :)

minefewer 04-08-2007 05:58 AM

if you know your serial number and registered with xbox.com you can go to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support and see the status of the repair. If you really want to know all knowing you can call the tech line and get the UPS tracking number and track the package as it's being shipped.

Fallen JeStEr 04-08-2007 04:15 PM

they should give you an elite box and every 360 owners should be allowed to trade in their 360 for orginial price and pay the difference to get the elite box. That is bull crap that they come out with one now, when everyone already has a 360.

I would never sell my 360 to buy the elite one.

Oh sweet. I was calling 18004myXbox to get the status of my repair, and in the middle of talking to that annoying automated service, my phone beeped. So I switched over, and it was UPS saying I have to be home to sign for a package tomorrow, and gave a tracking number. It's my 360! :) The irony, lol.

minefewer 04-08-2007 08:45 PM

Thats a sweet case. I am pissed at UPS at the weekend, I ordered Guitar Hero 2 and the stupid guy never showed up but told his supervisor their is no such person living there. I used to work for UPS and I know how they work and that was crud. It's cool your getting it back tomarrow though. The elite is just one more fine example of gaming marketing. Make everyone buy the old one then upgrade and sell a new one.

Fallen JeStEr 04-08-2007 09:18 PM

hey khaoz do u have this game?
What games do u have for 360 besides Gears?

KhaOZ 04-08-2007 11:41 PM

I don't actually buy games for the 360, cept I do own Gears cause MS sent it to me for free. I have a subscription with gameznflix, which is just like gamefly. I've had Lost Planet for about a month now from them, and yet to play it, lol. I like this system more though, because I find many console games, I play them for a week, and then put them on the shelf to collect dust.

But yeah, I'll be sending back one of the games I have from gameznflix and grabbing Vegas and GRAW2 to play a bit. If my buddy here on base ever gets a 360, he swears he's getting vegas, so i'll probably play it a lot more if that ever happens. His wife is my wife's best friend, heh. So they can sit around and talk while we own bitches on LIVE :)

Fallen JeStEr 04-09-2007 12:14 AM

cool man. So you only rent games. I still have never played or seen gears of war being played. I really do want to see the game because I hear the graphics in Gears are amesome.

KhaOZ 04-09-2007 12:40 AM

Gears is on the same engine as Vegas. The Unreal3 engine, so the graphics aren't like leaps and bounds ahead of Vegas. It's only a little better because Gears is made by Epic, and Epic made Unreal3 Engine, so of course they know their engine inside out. It is a very nice looking game though, and I'm sure part 2 will be even better.

DivineStrauta 04-09-2007 12:44 AM

I thought about renting games. I just figured I'd end up losing money from it.

Fallen JeStEr 04-09-2007 10:35 AM

Epic, Activision, and Midway are my favorite companies. Make the best games!

Well, as i'm sure you know, the second you buy a game and open it up, it's instantly worth 50% what you paid for it or less if you try selling it on ebay or trading it in at gamestop or something. So in a week when you stop playing that latest game, and have no interest in ever playing it again cause another new game has your attention, that old game will collect dust and be worth nothing. Renting though, I pay $12 a month and get to play as many games as I want, 2 at a time. I just happen to live by one of their distribution centers as well, so the games get to me much quicker than normal. So I figure, pay $60 a month buying about a game a month, or $12 a month, but I never actually own any games.

It's something to consider. Some enjoy just OWNING their own collection, for the pleasure of saying they own many games, but I had over 100 genesis games and near as many SNES games as a kid, so I think I'm over that, hehe.

See that is smart Khaos but the thing about me is I don't have the time to dedicated to games. I like just getting involved with a couple and constantly playing them.
The last xbox 360 game I bought was Rainbow Six Vegas in November and I also bought Call of Duty 3. So I play those two constantly cuz I don't have enough time to get bored with them since I have a busy life (Kind of sucks hahaha). Also I bought Turtles arcade which I still play often along with mortal kombat, contra and worms. Those three games I don't play often but still enjoy playing. So it is worth it to me to spend the 60 bucks because I trade in games I don't play anymore like Hitman bc I already finished that game on all difficulty levels so I need to trade it in. But The next game I might get depending on how good the demo is; Shadowrun, Unreal Tournament 3, or a personal favorite Area 51 2 that is coming out. The first one was not popular but multiplayer was so much fun.

Guyzea 04-09-2007 02:39 PM

I have purchased thousands of games.

DivineStrauta 04-09-2007 02:57 PM

I don't care about owning games. I only buy what's really good to me. I've definetly considered it and I'm going to try it out and see how it goes. At least this way I can try a variety of games without paying 60$ for them :P

KhaOZ 04-09-2007 05:25 PM

I will probably buy Halo3 and maybe the Mass Effect trilogy. Oddly enough Jester, part of the reason I went to doing it this way, is because I know with most games, I'll never have the time to finish them, lol. So instead of paying $60 for all these games my friends go on and on about, and only ending up playing them a few times, at least this way I know what all the fuss is about, and got a good chance to see how the game is, without spending the $60.

I feel you though. Time restraints suck. I miss the days when I was a kid and could play game after game for hours on end. Now I have kids, and they take up all my damn time, lol.

NJPunker23 04-09-2007 08:30 PM

Hell, just being away from any videogames makes me think im not gonna have an urge to play them anymore when i get back. I literally havent felt a controller in over 2 months. But on a positive note, I have gotten back into soccer, getting fit, and will most likely be playing over the summer.

Its funny, cuz when i was a child. All i wanted to do, was be outside, run around, expore. I hated watching TV or being in my house. But then i got a sega genesis for christmas, and it all went downhill from there lol.

For real, lol. My Mom says when I was a kid, she would ground me from going outside, but with my little brothers, it was more having to ground them from the inside, and force them to go out, lol. Fucking videogames man.
