What to buy for less than $200?

$$$ - $(car insurance) - $(nintendo DS+R4) = $200 + gas money.

So, with the $200 I was thinking...
an i-ram by gigabyte (posted here)
or a nice monitor from newegg (Linkage here)
ooor <your suggestion here>?

i got a decent compy but elimination HDDs would be nice. my CRT monitor blows nuts, especially for moving (LANs, etc) so does anyone have any useful suggestions?

Save it? lol. I'd go for the monitor but that's just me.

my laptop had a 15" widescreen and i liked it better than this 19" or my 17" LCD (4:9).

hmmmmmmmm

Hekkensn 03-04-2007 12:48 PM

monitor no doubt man. samsung ftw

blood 03-05-2007 03:48 PM

Monitor.

With the Iram your going to need to buy the Ram to put in it which adds to the cost unless you already have the ram but thats only 4gb thats nothing.

blood 03-05-2007 05:18 PM

it's something alright, plus i can get/have ram. but i do believe a monitor would go further for my situation ^__^

isn't that a little large for gaming? (<--non-rhetorical) my 15 made my eyes jump a lil for the edges, so, i'm thinking 19" widescreen would be about right.

SacredTbag 03-12-2007 06:37 AM

a 19" wide uses 1440x900 resolution if i remember right. it makes it look like you're using 1024x768 on a standard 19". it's too low for the screen size and everything looks huge. and there's no such thing as "too big" for gaming :) once you try it you'll never go back.

blood 03-21-2007 07:41 PM

wow dude, i missed this post. we talked on AIM but sorry i never answered ya back LOL.

that 21" widescreen display was running UT2004 and it was just too big for me. i couldn't see wtf was goin' on.

Spin 03-22-2007 10:00 AM

my 19" Acer is running BF2 at 1280 X 1120 or something like that, but i know the 2nd number isnt 3 digits, its 4, and its damn near too big, like was already said my eyes jump around the screen pretty good. but its not limited to the rez like was said, im at work rt now so i cant even be sure what im running it at right now when im gaming.
