Weirdo Pervert! Hey, we might be going to Kirtland soon man. If so, we'll more than likely be out in Japan in 4 years. My Marine neighbor is going to Pendleton in December. My little brother who's Marine infantry is stationed out at 29 Palms in Cali, but he's over in ramadi, Iraq at the moment. I'm kind of looking forward to Kirtland though, and if we get to Japan afterwards, that'll be pimp. |

Okinawa is mostly packed with beach resorts and US military bases. We have a ridiculous amount of bases on that tiny island. It's where we were sposed to go after Turkey, but my wife's mother had both of her Kidneys fail, and got real sick, so my wife put in to come back anywhere to the states so we could see her Mother more than once a year. The Air Force base we were to go to is pretty much a Beach Resort that you live on from what people tell me. The base ith is at. Had her Mother not got sick, we'd be there with ith, heh. Was either that or Yokota in Tokyo. That was actually first on my list, Yokota, but the wife wanted to hit up Kadena, and I was cool going anywhere in Japan. ith, can't you just take a hop up to Yokota? |
yeah we got hops going to yokota and hickam every week. mostly on 135's and i dont care to much to ride on those. unless the boomber lets me sit where he does but theres not to many cool boomers around anymore. thats funny too i almost went to kirtland this june was going to work on the helicopters there, thank god i didnt. i dont think i would have survived in new mexico

You'd be surprised. The weather at Kirtland is nice year round. Albuquerque is right up against a mountain, so you get weather that averages around the 50s to 70s year round. There's a huge Zoo there and a bunch of parks along the rio grande river that runs right through the middle of the city. 4 Malls, a couple of them are huge. The base is massive, even has 2 elementary schools and a middle school ON base, it's so big. There's about 750,000 people, a bunch of colleges. They even have a decent computer graphics school there. There's skiing/snowboarding up on that mountain that borders Albuquerque. A pretty decent Amusement park, a lot of bars and clubs if you're into the night life, I think I counted something like 12 golf courses, there's an aquarium, their own major airport, etc etc. There's a LOT in Albuquerque. I wasn't to thrilled about the idea of going there either, but people kept telling me they loved it there, and want to go back. So I had to see wtf it was that made everyone I talk to, love this place so much, and it seems to have a lot going for it overall. I mean, there are a LOT worse bases. Minot, Canon, Whiteman, etc, lol. So yeah, i've done my research on the place, and am actually looking forward to going. The only bad thing i've noticed, is the crime rate there is pretty high compared to most cities of its size. So where you going to now? |
My buddy's getitng shippedout to afgan tommorrow, with the ole cdn military....
