I'm not going to get into your guys debate, but I do think the whole casket and salute and honor thing, is quite warrented, regardless of if a gov't is wrong or rite, falling in battle for your country and escorting a fallen comrade home etc, would be quite a honor. Atleat imo.

well i don't recall anybody saying u couldnt voice an opinion, or that if people hadn't served in the military then they couldn't comment on this thread....ur opinion and view is always welcome on ANY topic regardless of personal life experiences. personal views are exactly that, its what makes the world go 'round.

people make a huge deal out of soldiers dieing, because they are people. if you died, somebody would make a huge deal out of it.

i used to be furious with the way the news would say xxx soldiers died in iraq in fighting last week. but now i take it as a sign of respect for them, and i'm glad it is known.

despite your feelings about x,y or z you should have the respect to not post negative (albeit very slightly) responses about the death of a soldier, ESPECIALLY if you were in. that makes him your family. he would have done anything for you and i'm sure he still would do anything for you.

i think your post came off not the way you intended it, but what you should do in the future is rethink what you're saying. i accept death and i'm fine with it. i get over it quickly. i don't think its a big deal either but that doesn't mean i don't feel sad everytime i hear about somebody dieing.

yeah skoob, that probably did come out a bit different from what i meant. i mean, hell, i know what the guy was doing, and i respect him for that. my dislike of our government just kinda got in the way there...

my youngest brother is in the army (the bastard is stationed in Hawaii though...). if something happened to him i would probably go and find the nearest government official i can, and commence to beating the dog poop out of him.
